Cider making

Cider making has a long tradition in Somerset. The distinctive soils and weather conditions combine to make the land around the Somerset levels ideal for cider apple orchards. A relative newcomer to cider making is The Newt, a working estate and visitor attraction, where apples are grown and cider is produced and sold. These photographs document aspects of the cider making process.
I hope that in viewing these images you will appreciate the craft that is cider production and appreciate your next glass of cider a little more.
